The Ivory Coast
is a beautiful country that lies on the southern coast of the bulge of
Western Africa. What travelers to this exotic place are currently denied
experiencing unfortunately, are sights like one of the only rain forests in
Africa that is still uncorrupted by the touch of man at the Tai National Park.
It is truly an unspoiled bit of nature in her finest hour, full of beautiful
huge trees, streams and teeming with wildlife. If ever given the chance, this is
a one of a kind sight that should be experienced by anyone who visits the Ivory
Coast.
But there are still many reasons to visit the Ivory Coast. For instance, the
stunning and impressive Cascade waterfall lies in a beautiful bamboo forest, in
the exotic region surrounding the town of Man. The town of Man hosts the annual
Festival of Masks, where the performing stilt dancers entertain attendants of
the festival with dancing unlike anything you have ever seen. With two such
wonderful attractions in one area, this is a great place to visit if you can
plan a trip around the time of the festival. A very unique city in Africa, the
capital Yamoussoukro is home to an exact replica of St Peter's cathedral in
Rome, and many have speculated that it contains more stained glass than you
would ever find in France. The beautiful cathedral is only one attraction in
this surprising city, others including large highways that simply disappear into
the jungle. Abidjan is quite an attractive city as well. The biggest city in the
Ivory Coast, Abidjan is set on a lagoon, and boasts tall buildings like the
beautiful and renown Hotel Ivoire. Abidjan has its own cathedral as well, St
Paul's. It was built sometime in 1985 and consecrated by the Pope, and is quite
a sight to behold. The city is said to have a very busy nightlife and offers
great museums in which to see some of the countries rich history, and a
beautiful and exotic rain forest reserve. If you have never seen a rain forest,
take the time to make a trip to the Parc du Banco reserve, you will be overcome
by the exotic beauty your eyes fall upon. The sights and sounds of the rain
forests are like nothing you have ever seen.
The Ivory Coast has great scenery and wonderful cities, wildlife, and a great
atmosphere. The weather is beautiful if you visit during the right time of year,
so don't hesitate to do a little research and pay a visit to this beautiful
country side. With so many different and unique cities and attractions, there is
something for just about anyone, and it’s a trip you should take at least once
in your life and an experience you will surely never forget. Many people who
have made the trip to the Ivory Coast have decided to go back again and again,
sometimes catching sights and scenery they were previously unable to see, and
even to go back and witness the same exotic wonders they experienced before.
