The Seychelles
are a large group of over one hundred islands nestled in the Indian Ocean lying
off the coast of Africa. Seychelles is quite hot and humid, its average yearly
temperature usually a hot 84°F, and the average temperature on the sea will
rarely ever drops below 81°F. One way to escape the heat is on one of the many
beaches, where cool breezes bring the humidity down drastically. The beaches are
one of Seychelles biggest attractions to date, so this is actually a great
thing. Seychelles is a great destination during the winter, considering it is
still quite warm, and the beaches are still just as welcoming and beautiful,

There are only two ways into the islands, either by plane or boat. But, there
are many ways to get around. The only company that provides flights between the
main islands is called Helicopter Seychelles, and they also provide charter
flights back and forth from most of the other islands. Depending on when you
take one of these scenic flights, they may very well cover the main islands of
Seychelles and the surrounding smaller islands. You also have a few options by
boat as well. You can find companies that will offer rides between most if not
all of the islands, and even a few ferries. But, in the end, having a car is
really probably more ideal and a good idea. For one thing, it is easier to find
a good view point from which to take in the scenery the Seychelles offers. Keep
in mind though you can only rent on Mahé and Praslin, so plan accordingly if you
decide to rent a vehicle during your stay. Seychelles law does require all
renters be at least 21 years of age, that they have a current and valid driver's
license. Be sure to research any other laws about renting a vehicle before you
make your trip, so that you are assured to be able to rent a vehicle during your
stay. There are of course other ways to get around, but once again, traveling by
car among the islands is acclaimed to be the easiest and most enjoyable way.
The Seychelles are actually full of activities for almost anyone, which range
widely from water-sports to golf. Windsurfing is actually a very popular
activity in May and October, and even if you are not a windsurfer yourself, this
is still an entertaining sight to behold. Though, the one thing everyone should
keep in mind is that every visitor to the Seychelles islands should take the
necessary time to visit at least one or more of the beautiful beaches. Many of
the Seychelles beaches are untouched by modernization and are quite refreshingly
and surprisingly un-crowded, considering their tranquil beauty. They offer
beautiful skies and a serenity you will rarely find anywhere else. Be sure to
plan ahead with your travel agent about where you wish to go and what you want
to do, so that you know exactly how to get to all the different destinations you
wish to go to during your stay on these beautiful islands.
